@jay733 nope its all hormones your endocrine system is your metabolism

  2. Basically all calories are the same, if you consume food higher in fiber you pass a lot of those calories out of your system and hence consume less calories or you can over eat a food because it takes good, but in the end, the fact is that if you lost weight it’s because you consumed less calories than you burnt off, that’s just science.

  3. @youlance29 he is saying that we have a logic bias. We say people overeat BECAUSE they are growing, not that we grow because we overeat. Similarly, Taubes is trying to argue that we get overeat because our bodies want to grow fat, not that we get fat from overeating. We don’t use the same logic for growth as we do for obesity.

    @youlance29 Animal Fat is lipotropic

  5. If you are weight training, I believe the protein to carbohydrate ratio should be 1:2. That is, twice the carbs of the protein you consume. 25g of protein should be balanced with 50g of carbs – this should give you a sufficient amount of energy and well enough protein to help build muscle. Good fat that we get from nuts can also help sufficiently in losing weight. Animal fat is what we need to stay away from if we want a low body fat percentage.

    -Rochelle.

  7. @TheLegalAddiction that is why you have to maintain a muscle building workout

  8. Just learn to listen to your body. Also; avoid processed food like the plague!

  9. Metabolic typing diet.

problem with that theory is that the body is in survival mode and find it easier to break down protein (muscle) for energy.

His voice is calm and mellow, as he explains, nice to listen to. Her voice is loud and high, annoying to hear.

  12. @TomCze18 You’re right to an extent but if you deplete the amount of carbs you eat too much then you will have insufficient energy to be able to have effective workouts which will ultimately result in lower calorie expenditure per day.

  13. i believe it also has to do with what kind of calories they are. If you take in 1,000 calories from fat, and burn 1,500 calories going for a run, I doubt you will still lose weight effectively. If you are overweight, I think the best diet is a low carb, low fat diet. My theory is that since the body uses carbs first as energy, starving it from carbs will make it resort to burning fat, since you starve your body of fat, it will have to burn the fat that it has stored – in your belly.

  14. @BryanEKS89 can u show me some links to them?

  15. sgorick: “If calories don’t matter, is HIIT training a waste of time? ”

No, HIIT is a wonderful way to get exercise. But the purpose of intense exercise is not to lose weight – it is to get in better shape.

  16. No input . No output . & no poop . ( :

  17. rgdvm93, look at it this way… eat healthy to lose weight.. don’t lose weight to be healthy. Once you start adding in all the fresh produce and quality grass fed meats/eggs, you will see things change for the better.

  18. great Sean!

  19. you eat , u gain some wieght, ur body compensates for that more wieght by eating more, your body now is adjusted to eating more to eating that much which used to be a lot, then you gain mroe wieght, so you get more hungry, eat more your body gets adjusted to that, repeat till dead

  21. 1:44 wow i want that shirt

  22. @Beardedyoungman I’m just fooling around with you. I’m sorry for the stupid comment I made. I was bored when I made that comment.

  23. If calories in vs. calories out were true, then most weight lifters would be obese. You can decrease calories and increase sugar/carb content and actually get fatter, there are plenty of studies that show this.

@johneblaze82 diabetes is a neurological problem, she’s not in any pain, and she is getting her strength back. It’s no trouble to me, she still does everything she needs to do on her own. It’s not just a thing I use for enjoyment it’s a cat

  25. Beardedyoungman on April 27th, 2010 at 10:04 am

@chiyerano ya I would never make a cat a vegitarian! they are carnivors, all the crp they put in cat food is horrible, it sucks she was alowed to get that far.
dogs can eat veggy, it’s theorized they would have eatten the food in preys stomach and learned to digest it once mixed with the enzims in the preys stomach. my dog eats organic 5 fish blend sustainably harvested with herbs no crap!
