What does rapid weight loss and dehydration mean in a puppy?
In the past week or so my little dog who is nearly 4 months, is in rapid weight loss, is sleeping and dehydration. She no fever, vomiting, or diarrhea, so I do not think she Parvo. In the past day or so, she put up the back and fun, but still dehydrated. I should be worried? When my dog was sick, my own and my father had to see her. I also know that dehydration is very serious. I asked my father took her to the vet, but he said it was good, I told him the sign of Parvo, it shows the songs, except for some, lethargy, dehydration.
She is likely sick and should be seen by a vet. Dehydration in puppies is very serious, and she should have been seen at the onset of symptoms.
I’d be worried.
What does your vet say?
Dehydration is very serious … even in the absence of a major disease, dehydration alone can lead to organ failure and, ultimately, death.
It means that your dog needs to go to the vet before she dies….you need to be forcing fluids. get her to the VET.
Puppies can get dehydrated very easy because of their small size and it can cause death. You should get her to a vet asap to get her evaluated as she may need IV’s for re hydration. Do you have water available for her at all times? One way to tell if your dog is dehydrated is to pick up the skin on the back of her neck and then let go. If it doesn’t return flat immediately or stays raised for longer that 1-2 seconds, she is dehydrated. Get her to the vet asap.
It means she needs to be seen by a vet.
WHY exactly did you not take her to a vet when she started to exhibit potentially deadly symptoms?
Your dog is sick and should be taken to the vet.
